Freezer Archeology

Today was cloudy and rainy most of the day. The forecast for this week just calls for more of the same.

When we aren’t traveling and are home taking care of things for the LOL’s and the sticks and bricks, we suspect no one is really interested in reading our blog but we hate to get out of the habit of writing because it is hard to start back when we head out. So…. Hopefully this is not too boring. We are still working on cleaning out Uncle Tom’s house which Juno was living in for the past several years. We moved her last Tuesday but only with the things she would immediately need. Now we are working on all the other stuff in the closets, cabinets etc. Today we cleaned out one of the chest freezers in Aunt Helen’s basement (she has 3) and defrosted it so that we could move Juno’s frozen foods into it. We found all sorts of surprises. Well, for the family, you know we weren’t really surprised. We found a quart of 1984 collard greens. Max wouldn’t have eaten those in 1984 much less now. There were a number of “archeological finds.” However, they will now not be found ever again. And if any of you tell on us, good luck in finding the evidence and besides we can always move into FRED and just let you move into our house and take care of everybody. So that was about it, we moved food, moved books, cleaned stuff and took care of some business.

One other thing – Sherman RV called and FRED is ready to pick up. We decided to have them go ahead and put in the SeeLevel II tank monitoring system and tie it into the Spyder multiplex system panel. We had the SeeLevel II system in FRED 1 and got spoiled with its higher accuracy. They will go ahead and to that and we will pick him up on Friday. YEA!!! Can’t wait to get him back home so we can do some of the personalization things we have been wanting to do. We will explain the upgrade and other things we had done after we pick him up Friday and make sure everything is as expected.

  1. I have cooked 20 year old beans that I canned. Last Friday and they were delicious.LOL. As long as they are covered with water and not freezer burned they are good. I know this for peas.lol
