Unlike most NOMADS work weeks this time we only had a two day weekend. We spent most of it cooking our meals for the next week, working on NOMADS business and pulling maintenance on FRED. Like the title says – busy, boring weekend. But it was great to see our best friends on our church’s YouTube stream today. Sure made us miss them.
Grilling pork chops. We ate two as soon as they were done and saved two for the work week.
Max’s mother’s grits-and-sausage casserole recipe. One of our favorites for breakfast or dinner. (Gotta learn to be quicker with the camera.)
Our sister-in-law, Debra’s, chicken pie. Still slow with the camera.
We had started detecting a faint sulfur smell in the hot water and that usually means a mineral buildup in the tank. We turned it off, remove the old anode rod and drained and flushed the tank with our handy dandy water heater flush gadget. We checked the anode rod to see if it needed replacing …
… yep, it was passed time to replace the anode rod.
We also removed and checked the electric element. It still worked but was caked in minerals so we replaced it, too.
On Saturday we did take time to check out a different produce stand a few miles east of us.
We had storms around us this weekend but not a drop of rain here.
Since rain is forecast for the next few days we decided to go ahead and dump and flush our holding tanks today. We warned you that it was a boring weekend.
