Sunday August 6, 2017
We are really having some lovely weather right now. It was 64 this morning, very good temperatures for some exercise for this time of year in Alabama. Yes, you don’t have a dry thread when you finish but with a breeze it’s pretty tolerable. At least is is a lot better than a few weeks ago.
It’s Sunday so of course we went to church at Lester Memorial UMC. Pastor Barry had a wonderful message today. He is such a man of God and we just love him so much (even if he is our cousin.) It was a great day at church. It was promotion Sunday for the children. We had a report from one of our folks that went to the Philippines recently and a wonderful worship service. God is so good to us.
Update: A lot of you have been praying for our 13 year old cousin, Josh, who has a rare brain and spinal cancer. We got to see Josh at the wedding yesterday. He was feeling well enough to come even though he had chemo earlier in the week. He has had a really good summer and will be starting high school this week. Thank you for your prayers and please continue. We also have another cousin, Wes, who has been battling liver cancer. He is now on hospice so we ask for prayers for him and the family.
After having Juno and Helen for lunch, we had a quiet afternoon. We were thinking about what to blog about today and started looking through some of our old pictures for this date. We found one of Anne’s mother standing in a field of tall fireweed in Alaska taken August 6, 1986 when she and Anne’s dad made their trip to Alaska in their Tiffin motorhome. We also found a picture of Anne in the tall fireweed taken 28 years and 2 days later in 2014. Love that we were able to digitize the 1986 Alaska album of Anne’s mom and dad.
That’s it for today. May God bless you and may we all follow His plans for our week.
